Surprising Trends for Autumn 2015

Surprising Trends for Autumn 2015

Autumn is fast approaching and that means new collections, styles and trends are on the way for your home.  This next series of blog posts are going to cover the suprising trends that are emerging this Autumn.  In this post we will look at the theme that is making a welcome return, with a modern twist.  Then in the following posts we will look at colours, patterns and materials you are going to want in your home this winter. Whether you are planning a total renovation, or just a minor update, these are the things to look out for.

Themes

Monochrome is back, but with a slightly different look to how it used to be.  Here at Hampton Living we like the use of black, or dark grey in accents.  To update a room try adding a statement piece of dark furniture, like our dresser or side tables below.  Alternatively you could add dark accessories such as lamps, cushions and throws to accent a light, calm, neutral room.

If you are renovating consider adding accents of black wood, not only does it add colour and depth, but it also adds another layer of texture.

If this is a little too daring for you try a grey floor which goes beautifully with a white based room and some dark accent pieces.

With your new dark accents you want a crisp modern white wall such as Farrow and Ball 'Wevet' and pale sofas like ours in Panama Natural.  This gives you a beautiful neutral base for the room.

This new monochrome look is not so much a case of harsh black and white contrast, but adding depth to a modern white room by including dark features.
